Route 1: south coast via Carcar (about 90 km, 2.5-3 hours)
Natalio Bacalso Avenue south through Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga and Carcar, then cross the island via Barili to the west coast. Mostly flat, heavier traffic until Naga, wide road after Carcar.
Route 2: over the mountains via Transcentral Highway
Scenic, cooler, with steep sections and sharp turns. Better on a bigger bike like the Ninja 400 and for experienced riders.
Tips
- Start early to avoid heat and traffic.
- Fuel up in Carcar or Barili.
- Bring your license: checkpoints are common on the national road.
- Rain from June to November: carry a rain jacket.
