Kawasan Falls in Badian, with its turquoise pools, is one of the most popular rides from Cebu City and a natural pair with Moalboal, about 20 km to the north.
Route (about 120-130 km, 3-4 hours)
Ride south from Cebu City through Talisay, Naga and Carcar, cross to the west coast at Barili, then continue through Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara and Moalboal to Matutinao in Badian. The entrance is next to Matutinao Church.
Fees and hours (check on site)
- Entrance: around PHP 200 per person; bamboo raft to the falls about PHP 300.
- Open roughly 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. Go early on weekends to avoid crowds.
- Canyoneering tours start upstream in Badian and Alegria and end at the falls; book with a licensed local guide.
Tips
- Leave Cebu City by 6 am to beat the traffic in Talisay and Naga.
- Parking is by the main road; do not leave valuables under the seat.
- Make it a 2-day trip: sleep in Moalboal and see the sardine run the next morning, or continue around the south on our South Cebu loop.
