The best way to see south Cebu on two wheels: down the east coast, around the southern tip and back up the west coast. Roughly 300 km in two riding days.
Day 1: Cebu City to Oslob (about 120-130 km, 3-4 hours)
East coast highway through Carcar, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete and Boljoon. Arrive in the afternoon, see Tumalog Falls, and sleep in Oslob so you are first in line for the whale sharks, which run only in the morning (roughly 6:00 to 12:00). Details in our Oslob guide.
Day 2: Oslob to Moalboal and back to the city
Whale sharks at dawn, then ride around the southern tip through Santander and Samboan and north along the west coast to Badian for Kawasan Falls and Moalboal. Either sleep in Moalboal (sardine run in the morning) or ride back to Cebu City via Barili and Carcar, about 90 km.
Practical
- Fuel in Argao, Oslob and Moalboal; stations thin out around the southern tip.
- Avoid riding the provincial roads after dark.
- Bring a rain jacket from June to November.
- Carry your license and the bike's papers for checkpoints.
Which bike
The Honda Click 125 does the loop easily and costs PHP 500 a day (PHP 1,000 for two days). For two people with bags, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 is more comfortable: PHP 4,000 for the 2-day minimum in low season.
