Big bikes for rent are rare in Cebu compared with scooters, and the rules are stricter. Here is what to know before you rent a 400cc motorcycle such as our Kawasaki Ninja 400.
The bike
The Ninja 400 has a 399cc liquid-cooled parallel twin with about 45 hp, weighs around 168 kg ready to ride, has a 785 mm seat and a 14-litre tank. It is a manual: clutch and six gears.
License and experience
- A motorcycle license is required: code A on a Philippine license, or the motorcycle category on a foreign one (valid 90 days from arrival).
- Manual-gearbox experience matters. We check the license and talk through your riding experience at handover.
Price and deposit
Big bikes in Cebu rent from about PHP 1,200 to 3,000 a day. Our Ninja 400 is PHP 2,000-PHP 2,500 a day, PHP 12,000 a week in low season, minimum 2 days. Deposit: PHP 10,000 cash, or PHP 5,000 + passport (refundable).
Insurance
Compulsory third-party liability (CTPL) is included. Damage to the bike and theft are the renter's responsibility, so ride within your limits and lock it when parked.
Where it shines
- Transcentral Highway: curves and views an hour from the city.
- South Cebu loop: about 300 km over two days.
- Oslob and Moalboal two-up with bags.
Tips
- City traffic is slow and hot for a big bike; leave early and head out of town.
- Rain from June to November makes painted lines and steel plates slippery.
- Book ahead in December-April: there is only one Ninja 400 in our fleet.
